What is the story about?

The Arizona Cardinals (1-4) head to SoFi Stadium to take on the Los Angeles Rams (2-3) this Sunday. It's the first meeting between Mike LaFleur and Sean McVay as head coaches after LaFleur was the Rams' offensive coordinator for 3 years. Kickoff is set for 4:05 p.m. ET (FOX) in Inglewood, California. Let's analyze NFL odds around the Cardinals vs. Rams odds and make our expert NFL picks and predictions

for the best bets.

The Cardinals won their first game of the season against the Los Angeles Chargers but they've lost 4 straight since, dropping to 1-4 on the year. Arizona is allowing the most points per game (32.4) in the NFL through 5 weeks and is averaging just 21.6 points per game, which ranks 23rd. Now, the Cardinals are also missing WR Marvin

Harrison Jr., who was traded to the Houston Texans, and RB Jeremiyah Love, who's out with an ankle injury.

The Rams have alternated wins and losses each week this season, failing to win consecutive games in their 2-3 start. They're coming off a 37-34 loss to the Buffalo Bills in overtime of Monday night's game, coming up short when K Harrison Mevis' 48-yard field goal attempt in overtime was blocked. Los Angeles has just 2 wins this season against the New York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles, so it's looking for win No. 3 on Sunday.

Cardinals at Rams picks and predictions

Prediction

Rams 34, Cardinals 17

Moneyline

Don't bother with the moneyline. The Cardinals are unlikely to win outright, and in no way should anyone bet the Rams at -750. PASS.

Against the spread

The Rams have been favored in every game so far this season, with Sunday being the biggest spread of the year for L.A. Both teams are 2-3 ATS through 5 weeks and, even though the Cardinals know the Rams' operation intimately thanks to LaFleur's time in L.A., this is still a game Sean McVay's squad should win comfortably.

The Cardinals are missing Love and no longer have Harrison at wide receiver; Harrison didn't produce much but he did draw attention away from WR Michael Wilson and TE Trey McBride. The Rams' defense performed well against the Giants, Broncos and Eagles before giving way to QB Josh Allen and the Bills in the second half of Monday's game, so L.A. should have no trouble slowing the Cardinals down.

And defensively, Arizona doesn't have any answers to WR Puka Nacua, WR Davante Adams and RB Kyren Williams. BET RAMS -12.5 (-108).

Over/Under

Given the Cardinals' struggles on defense, it's not terribly surprising that the total is set so high. They have moved the ball at times, and their defense can't stop anyone. LEAN UNDER 51.5 (-110) because there's a chance the Rams will completely shut down Arizona's offense and keep the score below the projected line.

Best prop bet

RAMS RB BLAKE CORUM 50+ RUSHING YARDS (+100)

Corum rushed for 128 yards on 12 carries in his first meeting against the Cardinals last season and capped off the year with a 59-yard performance against Arizona in the regular-season finale. This is a great spot for him to get back on track with the Rams being heavy favorites and likely to lean on the run game.
