The Auburn Tigers (3-2, 1-2 SEC) and No. 1 Georgia Bulldogs (6-0, 4-0) meet Saturday in SEC action at Dooley Field at Sanford Stadium in Athens, Georgia. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET (ESPN). Let's analyze college football odds around the Auburn vs. Georgia odds and make our expert college football picks and predictions for the best bets.
Auburn heads into the 131st showing of the Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry struggling and in search of a statement win. There is no better opportunity to do that than against the nation's top team. The Tigers have had plenty of time to prepare for this one with a week off.
With their offense turning the ball over, the emphasis will be on Auburn's defense slowing down Georgia. Auburn QB Byrum Brown did put
up numbers in the air (159 passing yards) and rushing (107), but his three giveaways in a 24-14 loss to Tennessee in the Tigers' last outing were costly. Auburn's defense has proven to be a successful unit that can get into the backfield -- good enough to give Georgia trouble. LB Elijah Melendez and LB Xavier Atkins lead the Tigers with three sacks each -- though Auburn head coach Alex Golesh said Atkins has not been with the team this week and will not play Saturday.
Georgia enters this one as the big favorite after being named the No. 1 team in the nation following an emotional 20-17 win over Alabama. The formula for Georgia is well known. The Bulldogs rank No. 4 in the SEC, averaging 211.8 yards per game on the ground. Even without RB Nate Frazier (211 yards, 8.1 YPC) against Alabama, RB Dwight Phillips Jr. (280 yards, 7.6 YPC) filled in just fine, putting up 120 yards rushing. Georgia's defense was just as stout in the win. The Bulldogs held Alabama to just 17 first downs on the road.
Georgia leads the all-time series against Auburn, 66-56-8. Auburn last defeated Georgia 40-17 during the 2017 regular season. Last year saw Georgia win this rivalry in a 20-10 fashion as a -4.5 favorite. The Under of 46.5 landed.

Washington at Purdue picks and predictions
Prediction
Georgia 37, Auburn 14.

There is no juice at all here for Georgia (-1200), who are big favorites.
Against the spread
BET GEORGIA -19.5 (-110).
Georgia looks like a legitimate No. 1 team and national championship contender. I fully expect the Bulldogs to carry the momentum from their thrilling win over Alabama last weekend into this one. Auburn did not have the best the outing on defense against the run last time out against Tennessee, spelling out bad news for the Tigers.
Over/Under
BET OVER 49.5 (-112).
Georgia should put up plenty of points on offense. While their defense has be strong, the Tigers' tempo should allow them to answer with some points of their own. That's all that will be needed for the Over to hit in this one.
