The Chicago Bears (3-1) and the Green Bay Packers (2-2) meet Sunday for a Week 5 matchup at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET (FOX). Let's analyze NFL odds around the Bears vs. Packers odds and make our expert NFL picks and predictions for the best bets.
These bitter NFC North Division rivals met 3 times last season, including in the playoffs. Chicago won both games at home, including a 31-27 win in the NFC Wild Card game. The Bears rallied from 18 points down, as QB Caleb Williams had a 25-yard TD to former WR DJ Moore for the game-winning score with less than 2 minutes to go.
Before we go any further, and I think Packers fans would also agree, RIP Mike Ditka. The former Bears coach, who led the team to
a Super Bowl championship over the New England Patriots in 1985, passed away this week. The dude was loved in Chicago, and "Iron Mike" even looked a little like a bear. Rest easy, coach.
As far as the current Bears are concerned, QB Caleb Williams (hamstring) was able to return to practice on Friday, and he has resumed throwing, but QB Tyson Bagent will still start Sunday.
The Packers gutted out a 17-14 win at Tampa Bay against a backup QB, and has posted a 2-2 record, with its only showing at home being a 35-14 loss against the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday Night Football in Week 3 on Sept. 24. That's right, it's Week 5, and Green Bay has yet to play a Sunday game at home in a bit of a scheduling quirk. The cover as 2.5-point favorites in Tampa snapped an 0-3 against the spread (ATS) skid to start the season.

Bears at Packers picks and predictions
Prediction
Bears 23, Packers 19
Moneyline
There is little reason to pay up and take Bears (-125) straight up rather than taking them laying the little bit of points. When you're betting a small favorite of -2.5 or fewer points, just lay the little bit of points rather than paying more for very little wiggle room.
AVOID.
Against the spread
Back BEARS -1.5 (-110), as they are a much more economical pick at this price, rather than taking the moneyline and costing you more. Plus, they'll be playing with heavy hearts, trying to win it for Ditka against the team he disliked most.
All of the extra emotions aside, the Packers just aren't a good team. They barely beat Tampa Bay which was playing with an undrafted rookie QB making his first NFL start last week. And, Green Bay was dusted by 21 in its only previous home game, giving up 242 rushing yards to Atlanta.
Over/Under
UNDER 46.5 (-110) is a strong play in this NFC North battle.
Chicago should have most of its success on the ground with RB D'Andre Swift, especially with Monangai ruled out. The Under is 3-0 in the past 3 games for Chicago, including the last 2 without Williams under center.
Best prop to play
BEARS RB D'ANDRE SWIFT - OVER 106.5 RUSHING + RECEIVING YARDS (-115)
Swift is the only game in town, as his backfield mate Monangai is on the shelf. It will be Swift serving as the workhorse in a black-and-blue game. Not only is he effective with his feet, but he is a good pass-catcher, too. He'll be busy, and he'll be productive.
