It didn't take long for the New Orleans Saints to find their third long snapper in as many weeks. The team is signing veteran long snapper Cal Adomitis, per NewOrleans.Football's Nick Underhill. Adomitis is the replacement for Scott Daly -- who was himself replacing Zach Wood. Daly signed with the Chicago Bears 53-man roster after snapping for the Saints in Week 2's win over the Baltimore Ravens, giving himself a nice promotion from the New Orleans practice squad. Wood was injured in practice earlier in the week after holding down the job for a decade. He's currently on injured reserve.
Adomitis, 28, has been in the NFL since 2022 with stops on several different teams. He got his start with the Cincinnati Bengals, having won All-ACC recognition
with the Pitt Panthers before turning pro. The Philadelphia Eagles picked him up in Sept. 2025 but Adomitis finished the season with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He landed with the Green Bay Packers this summer and competed for the starting job throughout the preseason briefly before signing with Miami Dolphins, who needed more depth while their starter navigated an injury.
Now he's in New Orleans, and if Adomitis plays his cards right, he could see a critical role for the Saints through October while Wood heals up. He's an experienced pro with 58 regular season games behind him, plus three playoff games. The Saints' special teams units did really well last week with a new face at long snapper. Let's see if Adomitis can return the same results.
