Shedeur Sanders' comments about his matchup with the New Orleans Saints defense didn't go unnoticed. The Cleveland Browns quarterback is making his first start of the 2026 season after going 3-4 last year, and his attempt at expressing confidence before Sunday's game at the Caesars Superdome gave the Saints some bulletin board material.
"We going to come in with a chip on our shoulder, for sure," edge rusher Carl Granderson said Friday. "They've been chirping a little bit. We see what the quarterback just said. So, you know, we're fixing to come in hot, ready to play. We're gonna pack the defense and the offense gonna come with us, so, it's gonna be a good game for sure."
You'd like to see the Saints get ready for this game without needing a poorly-executed
answer to a standard question, but we'll take it. New Orleans has struggled defensively throughout the season both against the run and the pass; Granderson's contributions as a pass rusher (5.5 sacks in six games) have been a much-needed highlight. Granderson also leads the team with five tackles for loss.
Let's see if it makes a difference. The Saints and Browns will kick off at Noon CT/1 p.m. ET on Sunday, Nov. 8.
