Some great news out of New Orleans Saints training camp: No. 8 overall pick Jordyn Tyson was a full participant on Day 1. The development comes as a welcome surprise after Tyson was held out of most of OTAs and minicamp for precautionary reasons while recovering from a hamstring injury he tweaked earlier in the offseason.
Tyson took part in team drills and hauled in a pass from quarterback Tyler Shough, marking the first time we’ve seen the two connect in a team setting. It’s another encouraging sign as the second-year quarterback and this year’s top draft pick begin building chemistry ahead of the season.

As the Saints continue building
around Shough and look to surround him with as much talent as possible, Tyson’s availability will be one of the biggest factors in the team’s success. A dynamic playmaker who has the ability to create explosive’s, Tyson adds another dimension to the offense. If he can stay healthy, his presence should help open up opportunities for the entire unit and could play a major role in this teams push for a playoff berth.
