The New Orleans Saints
are moving on from cornerback Isaac Yiadom, according to Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football, as they continue trimming their roster to the initial 53-man roster. Yiadom returned to New Orleans last offseason after spending the 2024 season with the San Francisco 49ers. He had previously played for the Saints in 2022 and 2023, and $1.5 million of his base salary was guaranteed for the coming 2026 season. He was widely viewed as a roster lock by the team's beat reporters.The 30-year-old appeared in 14 games with one start with New Orleans last season, recording 23 tackles while also contributing heavily on special teams. His release is one of the more notable veteran moves the Saints have made during final cuts. New Orleans has
several younger defensive backs competing for roster spots, and moving on from Yiadom clears a path for one of them to stick.
Yiadom has appeared in 118 career games with 34 starts across stops with the Broncos, Giants, Packers, Texans, Saints, and 49ers. He'll now become available as teams around the league sort through their own final roster decisions. If he doesn't choose to sign elsewhere, he could be a candidate to remain with the Saints on the practice squad, or re-sign with their 53-man roster once another player has gone on injured reserve.
