New Orleans Saints fans will have to wait another look to see Alvin Kamara. The franchise rushing leader will be inactive for Sunday's season opener with the Detroit Lions, as first reported by Nick Underhill for NewOrleans.Football and confirmed by NFL Network's Ian Rapoport

Underhill added that Kamara "progressed through his rehab faster than expected, and with the game plan set, they decided to wait until next week."Kamara suffered an MCL sprain during the Saints' preseason joint practice session with the Dallas Cowboys and only practiced on a limited basis this week before ramping up to full participation on Friday. He was expected to miss the first three or four games, but instead he responded well to rehab and made a go of it. Kamara was officially
questionable to play on the final injury report, so we'll see him in action during Week 2's road game with the Baltimore Ravens.
With Audric Estime joining Ty Chandler on injured reserve (but expected to return later this season), the Saints' running backs available for Sunday's game in Detroit include big-time free agent acquisition Travis Etienne Jr., fourth-year backup Kendre Miller, and CJ Donaldson, an undrafted rookie out of Ohio State who the Saints elevated from their practice squad. Kamara will be inactive along with the team's other practice squad rusher Zamir White. Let's play ball.
