Monday brings us within 34 days of the New Orleans Saints regular season opener. New Orleans travels north to open up 2026 with a showdown at the Detroit Lions on Sunday, Sept. 13. Rookie defensive back TJ Hall is wearing No. 34 for the Saints through training camp.
A seventh-round pick, Hall is in the mix at cornerback. It figures to be a heated battle among young players at the position. Here's a look at Hall's background as our latest Saints Player of the Day.

A three-star recruit at San Joaquin Memorial High School in California, Hall flipped commitments from Arizona to Washington before deciding on the Iowa Hawkeyes for his collegiate destination. He appeared in every game of 2022 as a freshman, albeit in limited action. In 2023, injuries
limited him to only six games before working his way into a bigger role to start the 2024 campaign. That season with the Hawkeyes, Hall recorded his first interception. He was a full-time starter for Iowa in 2025, grabbing 1 interception and leading the Hawkeyes with 10 passes broken up while recording 47 tackles.
New Orleans selected Hall with the third choice in the seventh round. Hall is a fundamentally strong tackler who brings nice agility and a physical style as a press corner and in run support. He lacks deep speed and needs to improve his route anticipation and ball location. Doing so is a must if he is to have a chance to grab a spot on the depth chart in what looks like a deep Saints cornerback unit.
