This is going to be good. On Tuesday, the New Orleans Saints announced that Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback Drew Brees -- the franchise leader in every major passing stat -- will be inducted into the Saints Ring of Honor. An induction ceremony will be held during halftime of the Saints' Oct. 11 home game with the Minnesota Vikings, which falls during Week 5 of the NFL's regular season schedule. It will be the final game in a three-week homestand for New Orleans.
Brees has already been inducted to the Saints' team Hall of Fame alongside many other fan-favorite players, but their Ring of Honor is a more exclusive club. In addition to the Saints' first franchise quarterback Archie Manning and longtime owner Tom Benson, Brees will be joining
his fellow Pro Football Hall of Famers Rickey Jackson, Willie Roaf, Morten Andersen, and Sam Mills. Two of Brees' former teammates, the sorely-missed Will Smith and three-time Pro Football Hall of Fame finalist Jahri Evans, are also members of the Saints' Ring of Honor.

Good for Brees. He's already reached the heights of the sport by earning his place at the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio, but it's still worth celebrating his achievements. He led the Saints into the winningest era in team history and brought New Orleans its first Super Bowl trophy. That he'll go into the team's Ring of Honor during a game played against the team he beat to reach Super Bowl XLIV in the first place makes it just that much better.
