Former Detroit Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold has left his visit with the New Orleans Saints without a deal, per NFL insider Jordan Schultz
, who adds that the New York Giants will be the next stop on his free agency tour. Arnold previously met with the Houston Texans and Seattle Seahawks after the Lions cut him earlier this summer. He was arrested on felony robbery and kidnapping charges in Florida and these visits have been characterized as "due diligence" by teams interested in the former first-round pick's services but wary of his legal situation.We know the Saints are in search of more depth at cornerback. Veteran backup Isaac Yiadom has gotten the worst of it at training camp and Rejzohn Wright, a promising reserve who earned a longer
look from last year's team, has been in and out of practice with an unspecified injury. New Orleans tried out three defensive backs last week, prior to hosting Arnold, but didn't sign any of them.
Right now the Saints are planning to start Kool-Aid McKinstry at one cornerback spot with Quincy Riley opposite him, and former Cleveland Browns starter Martin Emerson Jr. closing ground quickly after leaping ahead of both Yiadom and Wright at training camp. Other backups like Jayden Price, Dalys Beanum, sixth-round pick Lorenzo Styles and seventh-round pick TJ Hall Jr. are still in the mix, but the team clearly wants more help at the position.
