Cornerback Terrion Arnold will not be signing with the New Orleans Saints as a free agent. On Thursday, NFL insider Jordan Schultz was the first to report that the Seattle Seahawks are expected to sign Arnold. Terrion Arnold had played for the Detroit Lions through the first two years of his NFL career before being released in late June.
This offseason, Arnold was arrested and now faces eight charges stemming from an alleged armed robbery and felony kidnapping. Detroit released him shortly after the arrest. Over the last few weeks, Arnold had visits with the Houston Texans, Saints, New York Giants, and Seattle Seahawks. Now, according to Schultz, he'll be signing with Seattle as he awaits his court case and likely NFL disciplinary action.

23, was a 2023 first team All-American with the Alabama Crimson Tide. At Alabama, Arnold was a teammate of current Saints cornerback Kool-Aid McKinstry for three seasons. The Detroit Lions selected Arnold with the 24th pick in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft, making him the second cornerback chosen. McKinstry was picked by the Saints in the second round of that draft with the 41st overall choice and the fourth cornerback selected.
However, Arnold struggled over his first two seasons in Detroit. He had no interceptions and 10 passes broken up as a rookie in 2024, allowing a respectable 55.6% completion percentage. Last season, Arnold's year was cut short to eight games because of a shoulder injury. Before the injury, he had an interception and 8 pass breakups but allowed 62.8% completion percentage. The Saints won't see the Seahawks in the regular season, so the only way they'll face Arnold is if both squads reach the postseason.
