More New Orleans Saints roster cuts are filing in, with wide receiver Brock Rechsteiner among them, via Luke Johnson for NOLA.com. The Jacksonville State product earned a longer look for himself with an impressive tryout at rookie minicamp in the spring and did what he could to make the team over the summer, standing out with strong blocking at practices. He also quickly won over a lot of Saints fans who used to cheer on his legendary father Scott Steiner, a pro wrestling Hall of Famer, and who are eager to see him team up with his cousin Bron Breakker once he's hung up his cleats.
The German suplex he demonstrated during a fight at joint practice with the Dallas Cowboys also helped his reputation. Rechsteiner is a candidate to return on the practice squad
after missing six games with a suspension for tampering with a test result in violation of the NFL's performance enhancing drugs policy. So the soonest he could be back in the fold is Monday, Oct. 19, after the Saints play the New York Giants on the road but before they fly out for their game in Paris with the Pittsburgh Steelers. We'll have to wait and sese if this is the last call for Rechsteiner in New Orleans.
