Could Terron Armstead be the answer the New Orleans Saints are looking for after losing their left tackle
? Probably not, but Armstead has thought about un-retiring for another run with the team that drafted him before. The five-time Pro Bowler admitted that Saints quarterback Tyler Shough has won him over to a point where he considered what it would take to get him in a helmet again. Armstead spoke about why he's all in on Shough during a sit-down on NFL on CBS for CBS Sports HQ."I am such a Tyler Shough fan," Armstead grinned. "I'm such a Tyler Shough guy. Like, he is everything you want from a franchise guy. He is the leader that you want. His accountability is through the roof. His willingness to compete, his desire to win, his -- desire to not
lose. I'm telling you. There's no bigger fan, in sports, than me with Tyler Shough."
Armstead said Shough won him over after appearing on his The Set with T. Stead YouTube show, and while the on-camera conversation only lasted an hour, they spent four more hours talking shop and getting to know one another better. That meeting gave Armstead the first spark he'd felt in years about ending retirement to get back on the field: "Tyler Shough made me think about going and getting an injection in this knee, first, and then coming back to play ball, to protect this man."
Now 35 years old and two years removed from his last NFL game, Armstead is starting to make a career for himself on the other side of the microphone as a media commentator and pro football analyst. But when he sees Shough go out there and lead his team to a huge upset on the road, as happened this past Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens, he can't help but start to feel like he just might have something left in the tank.
