Brandin Cooks is still looking for his NFL comeback. The former New Orleans Saints first-round pick re-signed with his old team last offseason expecting to catch a lot of passes from Derek Carr. That obviously didn't pan out, and the Saints eventually cut him after failing to find a trade partner. He initially landed with the Buffalo Bills but still didn't see many targets, and now he's looking for a new opportunity almost a year later.
Which brings us to Cooks' tryout with the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday. While he didn't sign with Baltimore right away, KPRC2's Aaron Wilson reports he's an option on their "ready list" just in case of an emergency. The Ravens have already lost rookie draft pick Ja'Kobi Lane for a month or more on injured reserve
and their highly-paid WR1 Zay Flowers hasn't practiced this week while dealing with a hamstring injury.
So Cooks won't be competing against the team that drafted him this Sunday. He probably didn't reveal any big insights to the team's playbook, given all of the Saints' offseason additions. But this does mean one more footnote in Cooks' long-running story with the Saints.
