It's finally here. The New Orleans Saints have a little more than 24 hours to reduce their roster from 91 players to just 53 names by the NFL roster cuts deadline at 5 p.m. CT on Sunday, Aug. 30. It's a difficult process with dozens of guys getting unfortunate calls into the office on what should be their day off. Some of them could land with new teams. Others might re-sign with the Saints' practice squad or return to the 53-man roster once other procedural moves are completed. But for many of them, this is the end of the line for their NFL career.
As for who could make the team? We've made our predictions, and wrestled with the toughest cuts while highlighting roster locks from around the Saints beat.

on every roster move. The Saints aren't just going to be releasing players from their contracts. They'll also be calling other teams and fielding trade offers while scouring the waiver wire for potential claims. It's important to remember that the initial 53-man roster on Aug. 30 won't be the same group available for their first regular season game on Sept. 13 as injured players recover and new additions settle in. Injured reserve and physically unable to perform list
- WR Mason Tipton will transition from the training camp PUP list to the in-season PUP list, per NewOrleans.Football's Mike Triplett; the difference is he won't count against the 53-man roster limit until he's healthy enough to be activated. Tipton suffered a groin injury late last season that kept him out of spring training and the preseason this summer. We'll see if there's room for him on the depth chart once he's cleared to play. Players who have been ruled out for the season on injured reserve include defensive lineman Bryan Bresee, offensive lineman Dillon Radunz, cornerback Rejzohn Wright, running back Ty Chandler, and tight end Moliki Matavao.
