Week 5 of the 2026 NFL season is a big one for the New Orleans Saints, sitting at 1-3 coming up against a 4-0 Minnesota Vikings team; it feels as though their chances to contend are rapidly deteriorating. Early on in the matchup, the defense struggled but held the Vikings to three, and then on the ensuing defensive drive, it was able to force a fumble and get the ball back.
Following the turnover, the Saints offense rapidly made a couple of connections in the pass game, and then Kendre Miller took over, rushing for 23 yards back-to-back and a touchdown on five plays.

This Saints offense desperately needed the rushing attack to find its footing, and after a Travis Etienne Jr. injury two weeks
ago, it felt unlikely. But Miller has stepped up in his absence this week and given the team an early lead at home.
We will see how well they continue to build off of this now, and if they can get the offense moving early of if this was just a blip on the radar.
