The New Orleans Saints had an opportunity to get back to .500 against their biggest rival on Monday Night Football. Instead, the Atlanta Falcons handed them a 45-24 loss at the Caesars Superdome, dropping New Orleans to 1-3.
Atlanta took control with a 14-0 first-quarter lead and never trailed. Bijan Robinson and Brian Robinson Jr. combined for five rushing touchdowns, while the Saints struggled to generate much on the ground themselves. Devaughn Vele's late touchdown catch narrowed the final margin, but the Saints were already well out of contention.
It was a disappointing finish to a night commemorating the 20th anniversary of the Saints' return to the Superdome after Hurricane Katrina. Here's a look at how fans on social media reacted to the loss:
just saw somebody say it’s pelicans season man it don’t get much darker

Man, this was an ugly game. We didn’t come ready to play. The defense decided they didn’t want to tackle anybody tonight, and we had too many bad penalties. We don’t get many primetime games, and this is how we perform? SMH 🤦😤 Not only could we not stop Bijan, Brian Robinson…

New Orleans showed up for the Saints, the Saints didn't show up for New Orleans.

Unthinkable. The Saints let Falcons fans take over the lower bowl of the Dome.

On this night of all nights.
For the 10th anniversary of the Domecoming, the Saints gave up 45 points to the Falcons.

This is message to the Saints.. PLEASE DON’T ASK FOR THE FALCONS ON THE 30th ANNIVERSARY. Schedule the Panthers or something.

You can see the Saints quit mid-Falcons 5th rushing TD tonight
