It isn't just Devin Neal signing with the Minnesota Vikings
. Audric Estime is also going to Minnesota after the New Orleans Saints released him with an injury settlement. Both running backs are signing with the Vikings practice squad, the team announced Wednesday, not long after the Saints cut them both from injured reserve. Neal and Estime had suffered preseason injuries that sidelined them for the opening weeks but were let go to seek other opportunities.That looks like an unwise move in hindsight. Starting running back Travis Etienne Jr. went down with a hamstring injury during last Sunday's loss to the Las Vegas Raiders, leaving the Saints with a past-his-prime Alvin Kamara on top of the depth chart alongside Kendre Miller and short-yardage
specialist CJ Donaldson. Zamir White remains on the practice squad after being acquired in a late-summer trade.
If the Saints had kept Neal or Estime around on injured reserve, they would be eligible to return after Week 4's game with the Atlanta Falcons. Instead, they're both on a team that will visit New Orleans in Week 5.
