The New Orleans Saints are making a change at cornerback before the first training camp practice even kicks off. New Orleans is signing Mike Reid and waiving Beanie Bishop, exchanging one depth option in the secondary for another, per Monday's update to the daily NFL transactions wire. Reid became available Saturday after the Carolina Panthers waived him while making a series of roster moves.
Reid, 24, entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with Carolina in 2025. He later spent time on the Panthers and Seattle Seahawks practice squads. He also signed with Carolina on a reserve-future contract in January. The six-foot-two, 200-poundcornerbackB has yet to appear in a regular-season game. Reid spent his final college season at South Dakota,
earning second-team All-Missouri Valley Football Conference honors.
Bishop joined the Saints' practice squad last December and signed a reserve/future deal in January. He previously showed promise as a rookie on the Pittsburgh Steelers, finishing 2024 with 39 tackles, four interceptions, and seven pass breakups across 17 games and six starts. Bishop had also been suspended for the first three games of the 2026 season.
