Longtime NFL referee Adrian Hill has been assigned to Week 3's game between the New Orleans Saints
and Las Vegas Raiders, per Football Zebras. Hill worked as an NFL side judge and line judge from 2010 to 2013, when he began officiating games as a field judge. He was promoted to referee in 2019 and has been running his own crew for eight NFL seasons. Hopefully he knows a forward pass when he sees one (or can tell when the ball passes the goal line).Now the good stuff. The Saints are 3-4 in games Hill has refereed, while the Raiders are 0-3. Hill's crew has thrown the second-most penalty flags through two weeks in 2026 (40, with two penalties declined), evenly split between the home teams and visitors 19-19. They ranked sixth-most last year with just
two more fouls called on visiting teams than hosts. But this season, no officiating crew has thrown more flags for false starts (13) than Hill and his squad. That's nearly as many as the next two crews put together (14), via NFLPenalties.com.
Kellen Moore's team must practice discipline. They're off to a good start, tied for the seventh-fewest penalties around the league (11) through two weeks. The Raiders are just behind them with a dozen fouls. However, New Orleans has ceded more penalty yards (88) than Las Vegas (71) despite collecting more flags. The Saints offense has picked up a few more first downs by penalty (5) than the Raiders (3), and they've given up fewer first downs by penalty defensively (2) than Las Vegas has (4). Hill's crew isn't shy about calling a foul when they see one. It's important the Saints stay out of their own way if they're going to pull off a win.
