It’s another long injury report to lead off the New Orleans Saints in Week 6. Several players missed practice on Wednesday due an illness going around the facility, including star wide receiver Chris Olave and defensive lineman Nathan Shepherd. Linebackers Kaden Elliss (calf) and Anfernee Jennings (knee) were both unable to practice due to injuries. We did see defensive tackle Vernon Broughton return to practice after missing Sunday’s loss to the Minnesota Vikings because of that illness, but he participated on a limited basis along with running back Alvin Kamara (back), linebacker Tyree Wilson (ankle), and defensive lineman Colby Wooden (toe). We’ll see if they improve to full practice reps throughout the week.
But we did get some good news.
Rookie offensive lineman Jeremiah Wright practiced fully after spending most of last week in concussion protocol. Starting quarterback Tyler Shough (left hand) was full-go despite an injury to his non-throwing hand, and longtime long snapper Zach Wood (calf) returned to practice after spending four weeks on injured reserve.
