As the Buffalo Bills (3-1) prepare to take on the Los Angeles Rams (2-2) on Monday Night Football in a game featuring two Super Bowl contenders, the team is dealing with a litany of injuries.
That’s especially true in the secondary, where Buffalo was without Christian Benford for the Week 4 loss to the New England Patriots before seeing nickel cornerback Dee Alford (ankle) and corner Te’Cory Couch (hamstring) suffer injuries vs. New England.

Heading into a Week 5 primetime clash against Matthew Stafford and the Rams, the Bills are hoping to have Benford back in the starting lineup. Today’s edition of Buffalo Rumblinks leads off with the latest news and notes out of One Bills Drive, including how cornerback Christian Benford participated in his second straight practice session on Friday.
Check out the news items below and then let us know your thoughts in the comments section.
Christian Benford practices, DJ Moore, Ed Oliver, Dee Alford still out
Benford making his second consecutive practice appearance (as a limited participant) was the good news. The bad? Alford, defensive tackle Ed Oliver (knee), and wide receiver DJ Moore (shoulder) were sidelined for the portion of the practice open to media members, while wide receiver Joshua Palmer (shoulder) was a new addition to the injury report after participating in a limited capacity.
We discuss how Benford is day-to-day as he deals with an injured toe and how he expects fellow defensive back Maxwell Hairston to “bounce back.” We also hear defensive coordinator Jim Leonhard (pictured below) refute Alford’s complaints that the noise in the new stadium hindered the team in their loss to the Patriots; find out how Bills starting left guard Alec Anderson is among the current players advocating for improved mental health awareness; examine what the offense needs to do to bounce back vs. the Rams; identify a few moves for Brandon Beane to make before the trade deadline; and more!
