Will Osula is attracting interest ahead of the summer window, but his focus remains on staying at Newcastle United.
“Will Osula is attracting attention from several Premier League clubs ahead of the summer window but is keen to stay at Newcastle United after his recent run in the team,” Football Insider reported on May 11.
Eddie Howe has given steady opportunities to the young striker over the likes of Nick Woltemade and Yoane Wissa late in the season, and although he still has a raw game, he’s found
a way to score a few goals down the road and to improve his performance during the home stretch.
Interest from other clubs has continued to build as a result, but Osula’s mindset remains clear.
“As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Transfer Insider podcast, Osula has no plans to leave St James’ Park as it stands, despite widespread interest in his services,” Pete O’Rourke said.
Newcastle are still expected to add another forward this summer, which could affect the long-term picture in attack with a crowded corps unless someone—Woltemade, Wissa, or Osula—goes.
“A new striker is on Newcastle’s transfer shortlist, however, with Nick Woltemade and Yoane Wissa each facing uncertain futures,” the report says.
Despite that, Osula’s recent form seems to have strengthened his position within the squad, and mostly in Howe’s list of favorite lads.
“If he is scoring goals and playing regularly for Newcastle, I’m sure he’d be more than happy to stay,” O’Rourke said. “He’s under contract until 2029, but I’m sure his form and performances will ensure that other clubs are looking at him.
“He’s doing everything he can to try and impress Eddie Howe and everybody at Newcastle that he could be the answer to their goalscoring problems.”
