Tottenham defender Pedro Porro has been quizzed on reported interest in his services from Barcelona amid talk that he has emerged as Joan Laporta’s dream signing for the backline.
Porro says he would love to head back to La Liga but doesn’t appear in any rush to leave Tottenham. He also confirmed he agreed a contract extension with the club before the World Cup.
“It’s my country and I like the league,” he told Cadena SER.
“Right now it would be very unfair to talk about anything other than my club because
I have a contract, but obviously I would love to return to Spain, it’s something I’m really excited about.
“I finalized my contract renewal before the World Cup to be at ease during the tournament. Nobody has told me that Barça or Madrid want me.
“There were clubs that inquired about my situation, but there was no real interest. Tottenham probably asked for a lot of money for me because they consider me one of the best.”
Tottenham have reportedly slapped a huge price tag on Porro in a bid to keep their World Cup winner in north London.
