Ansu Fati is reportedly closing in on agreeing a permanent deal with Ligue 1 side Monaco following his season-long loan from Barcelona.
The forward scored 12 goals in all competitions for Monaco in the 2025-26 campaign and his father has said he’s happy with the Ligue 1 club.
Fati had been dreaming of another chance at Barcelona but is now closing in on making his stay at Monaco permanent, according to reports in France and Spain.
Monaco will pay the 11 million euro buy option in his contract, although
Fati may have to agree a pay cut if he is to stay on past the end of the season.
Fati could therefore be Barca’s first departure of the summer. Other players are also expected to leave with Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Marc Casado and Roony Bardghji all being tipped for potential exits. There’s also uncertainty over the future of loanees Marcus Rashford and Joao Cancelo.
