One of two title matches set to come our way… well, right about now, for folks watching the Aug. 29 SmackDown from Lyon, France live on Netflix… The Secret Hervice’s Alba Fyre & Piper Niven were set to challenge Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss for the WWE Women’s Tag Team championship on today’s show.
But in his customary pre-show announcements about SmackDown’s card, blue show General Manager Nick Aldis revealed that Niven is “unavailable”. For Piper’s replacement, Aldis made a call to the “next best
thing”. She wasn’t available either. So he called Niven & Fyre’s “President”, and Chelsea Green will fill in herself.
The GM also added a Michin vs. Kiana James match to the line-up for the Clash in Paris go home.
Niven’s been wrestling the Tag champs in solo matches the past two Fridays, but hasn’t been listed for an official match at any of the house shows on WWE’s current tour of the United Kingdom and Europe.
We’ll see if any more is revealed during the SmackDown broadcast…
