The Steelers made a flurry of roster moves ahead Monday night’s matchup against the Miami Dolphins.
Along with the previously-reported signing of wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling to the 53-man roster,
the Steelers announced they have released wide receiver Ke’Shawn Williams in a corresponding move. Williams briefly had a role as Pittsburgh’s starting return man earlier in the season.
Additionally, Pittsburgh has elevated offensive tackle Jack Driscoll and defensive lineman De’Marvin Leal from the practice squad to the active roster ahead of the game. Both will revert back to the practice squad following Monday.
The Driscoll elevation comes following a rash of injuries at offensive tackle for Pittsburgh. Broderick Jones and Calvin Anderson are on injured reserve, and Andrus Peat was ruled out for Week 15. The Leal elevation could be in response to T.J. Watt being ruled out with a lung injury given Leal’s outside linebacker versatility, or it could be a sign that rookie defensive tackle Derrick Harmon, who is currently questionable, won’t suit up against the Dolphins.
Stay tuned to BTSC ahead of Pittsburgh’s Monday Night Football kickoff at 8:15 p.m. EST.
