Welcome to the Morning Commute
Today we’re talking about Mizzou’s kicker situation.
After Blake Craig was officially ruled out for the season with a torn ACL, Mizzou needed to address the depth at the kicker position — and they did so via the JUCO ranks.
The Tigers have added Ryder Goodwin to their roster, who is a transfer from Northeastern Oklahoma A&M.
In the 2024 season at NEO A&M, Goodwin was 5-9 on field goals with a long of 40 yards and a perfect 21/21 on PATS. Per his high school recognitions, Goodwin was named 1st team All-Region in 2021 and 1st Team All-Conference in 2022 plus being named a team captain.
Missouri also has true freshman Robert Meyer at kicker — who went 4-4 on PATs but didn’t attempt a field goal vs Central Arkansas.
Mizzou is only 6.5-point favorites on Saturday so special teams could play a major role. The newcomer kickers will be put to the test in the Border War.

“While this isn’t ideal for Mizzou, there are a lot of positive takeaways from Week 1; but the real test is this Saturday.”
Injuries are a part of the game. Let’s see how the Tigers respond. Next man up
The opponents only get stronger from here on out, beginning this week. Questions about the offensive line need to be answered positively and quickly if the ceiling we hope this team has turns out to be attainable.
Mizzou needs a better performance from the offensive line, and it has to start on Saturday against the Jayhawks.
Overall, our picks went 4-2, with Kentucky covering by a measly half a point to give us that second loss. Oh well, we had a winning week and the plan is to carry that on to Week 2. Let’s get to it!
Nathan gets you ready for Week 2 of the College Football season from a betting angle.
I have a lot of pent up sports anger that needs to be released on those terrorists from the west. I can’t wait to see them run out on to the field at Faurot and have everyone boo their asses off. It’s going to be magical.
There’s no other option. Beat kU!
The Tigers volleyball team opened the season with a pair of sweeps in South Florida. Mizzou looks to improve to 4-0 with a pair of road games against Arkansas State.
It may be Border War week, but a ranked Mizzou Volleyball team is off to a strong start. They’re in action tonight at Arkansas State (7:00 p.m. CST on ESPN+).
