It’s time for Arizona women’s basketball to look towards the future. Incoming freshman Jasleen Green is set to be a big part of that future. She’s shown why with her achievements and accolades in high school. She added to those with the Gatorade Florida Player of the Year nod on Friday.
At her final radio show of the season, Arizona head coach
Becky Burke was asked to describe her ideal recruit. She replied that Green was her ideal recruit and fans would soon see why.
The 5-foot-9 guard averaged 17.8 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 2.0 steals her senior year at Grandview Preparatory School in Boca Raton, Fla. She led the team to a Class 1A championship and helped post a 26-4 record. She contributed 16 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists as Grandview Prep took down Orlando Christian Prep by the score of 71-37 in the state final.
She may play for a smaller school, but Green’s impressive talent has been recognized in the Sunshine State. She was named the 2025 Miami Herald Player of the Year. She was also honored as the Broward County Player of the Year three times.
Opposing coaches recognize it, too.
“When I think Gatorade Player of the Year, I think consistent, stone-cold killer who has gone up against the best and didn’t waver,” Georgia Taylor, head coach of Martin County High School, was quoted in the press release. “That person is Jasleen Green.”
