Bayern Munich head coach knows Lennart Karl is not having a normal one. The wonderkid’s out-of-this-world form for one of Europe’s best teams is taking care of that. But Kompany has faith that the teenager
will make the transition to full professional.
“When you score so many goals at 17, not everything is normal,” Kompany had relayed ahead of Bayern’s match on Sunday vs. Mainz 05 (as captured by @iMiaSanMia). “His mental and physical development is currently fine. He was a bit tired sometimes, but that’s normal playing every three days. In the future, he will be a player who can handle the workload very well – I believe he has the profile for it.”
Karl added another one — this time a tap-in, but it counts just as much as his worldies — in Bayern’s 2-2 draw against Mainz, and now has six goals and two assists across all competitions. His has been one of the more sensational introductions to top-level professional football in recent memory, at least as far as Bayern is concerned.
