The seventh week of the NFL regular season has arrived. My Week 6 picks were an improvement over Week 5, but 9-6 wasn’t the outcome I was hoping for. Through six weeks I’m sitting at 61-32 with predictions—just a shade over 65-percent accuracy. This week, there will be fifteen games with the Buffalo Bills and Baltimore Ravens having their bye weeks.
Thursday Night Football — Pittsburgh Steelers at Cincinnati Bengals
Winner: Steelers
The AFC North seems prime for the Steelers to take with ease. After
starting off 4-1, they have a clear and comfortable lead over the rest of the division. Every week has had its fair share of upsets thus far, but I don’t believe the Bengals are going to be able to topple Pittsburgh at home. I’ll take the Steelers.
Sunday Football (Early Game) — Los Angeles Rams and Jacksonville Jaguars (London)
Winner: Rams
The Rams and the Jaguars go head-to-head at Wembley Stadium across the pond in London. Both these teams are 4-2 and have had pretty good starts to the year. Star receiver Puka Nacua will likely be out for this game due to an ankle injury suffered against the Ravens. That’s a concern, but I still like the Rams in this one.
Sunday Football (Early Game) — New England Patriots at Tennessee Titans
Winner: Patriots
The Patriots sit atop the AFC East with an impressive 4-2 record to begin the season. Meanwhile, the Titans just fired their head coach and are struggling at 1-5. I’ll take Drake Maye and his teammates on the road to notch their fifth win of the season.
Sunday Football (Early Game) — New Orleans Saints and Chicago Bears
Winner: Bears
Caleb Williams and the Bears were able to come up with a big win against the Commanders on Monday Night Football. The Saints have just one win and have a long way to go before they will ever be a competitive football team. I’ve got the Bears coming out and earning a big home victory.
Sunday Football (Early Game) — Carolina Panthers at New York Jets
Winner: Panthers
After falling just short against the Broncos, the Jets remain the only winless team in the National Football League. The Panthers are 3-3 and coming off two consecutive wins. I think they will take care of business and make it three in a row on the road against the Jets.
Sunday Football (Early Game) — Las Vegas Raiders at Kansas City Chiefs
Winner: Chiefs
The Raiders head on the road to Arrowhead Stadium to take on the Chiefs in an AFC West rivalry game. I expect the Chiefs defense to handle the Raiders offense quite easily. Geno Smith has been bad and leads the league with 10 interceptions. It’s hard to win games turnover over the ball that much.
Sunday Football (Early Game) — Miami Dolphins at Cleveland Browns
Winner: Browns
This might be the afternoon snoozer of the week. Both the Dolphins and Browns are off to disastrous 1-5 starts to their ‘25 campaigns. I’ll be taking Cleveland in this one because I think they have enough ability on defense to limit Miami’s offense which has been mediocre at best this season.
Sunday Football (Early Game) — Philadelphia Eagles at Minnesota Vikings
Winner: Vikings
The Eagles, losers of two straight, head to Minneapolis to take on the Viking. The Eagles desperately need a win. But guess what? That Vikings defense is for real. Better yet? They’ve had an extra week of preparation coming off their bye week to prepare for this game. I’m taking the hometown Vikings here.
Sunday Football (Late Game) — New York Giants at Denver Broncos
Winner: Broncos
Jaxson Dart and the Giants head on the road to take on the Broncos in Denver. Spearheaded by a ferocious defense, the Broncos have won three games in a row. I’ve got my concerns about Denver’s offense but feel Vance Joseph and his players will help them achieve their fifth win of the season.
Sunday Football (Late Game) — Indianapolis Colts at Los Angeles Chargers
Winner: Chargers
This is one of my favorite matchups of the week. Both these teams have done well to start their seasons. I’m still impressed by Daniel Jones and what the Colts have accomplished to date. However, their defense has been struggling to shut down opposing passing attacks. It will be tough, but I think Justin Herbert can air it out enough to give the Chargers a huge win at home.
Sunday Football (Late Game) — Green Bay Packers at Arizona Cardinals
Winner: Packers
After starting off the year 2-0, the Cardinals have been struggling and have dropped four straight. The Packers are coming off their bye week and had an extra week to prepare for this one. I’ll take Jordan Love, Joshua Jacobs, and the Packers offense to roll over Arizona’s defense on the road.
Sunday Football (Late Game) — Washington Commanders at Dallas Cowboys
Winner: Commanders
This should be a really fun NFC East matchup to watch. Both teams lost last weekend, so this is a ‘get it right’ opportunity for both of them. I have a feeling this will be a pretty high scoring matchup with a lot of fireworks. It’s a gamble, but I’ll take yet another road team to win. I’m picking Washington.
Sunday Night Football — Atlanta Falcons at San Francisco 49ers
Winner: Falcons
This is an interesting Sunday Night Football matchup. The Falcons are coming off a big win, whilst the 49ers were dealt a devastating blow with All-Pro linebacker Fred Warner being lost for the season with an ankle injury. I have a feeling Bijan Robinson is going to run wild without Warner suiting up for the 49ers. I’ll take the Falcons here.
Monday Night Football — Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Detroit Lions
Winner: Buccaneers
Baker Mayfield and the Buccaneers are tied with the Colts for the best record in the NFL at 5-1. The Lions are a good team at 4-2, but they are pretty beat up on the defensive side of the ball and are struggling there. I think Mayfield and company will carve up Detroit’s secondary in primetime on Monday.
Monday Night Football — Houston Texans at Seattle Seahawks
Winner: Texans
After losing their first three games of the year, DeMeco Ryans and the Texans have won two in a row. They are struggling on offense, but their defense is playing very good football. The Seahawks have a pretty well-rounded team and have been impressive, but I have a feeling Houston pulls out an upset on the road.
