Ez Abde is one of many wingers who have been linked with a return to Barcelona this summer as Hansi Flick’s side search for reinforcements.
The 24-year-old has caught the eye this season at Real Betis, scoring 11 times and bagging nine assists in all competitions for Manuel Pellegrini’s side.
Those performances mean that Barcelona aren’t the only club keeping an eye on him ahead of the summer window, with a summer exit appearing to be on the cards.
According to Sport, those close to Abde say that if
he does move he wants to play regularly. “He has always prioritized playing, feeling important every weekend,” is the word from Abde’s camp.
“He does not contemplate returning to a place where he does not have continuity.”
And that may be the problem for Barca. If Abde were to return he’d be unlikely to be first choice and would have to fight for his place in the team.
Premier League clubs are also thought to be keen on Abde and could potentially tempt him away from Betis with a big-money offer and the promise of regular football.
Yet Barcelona should still stand to profit even if Abde does return, as they still hold 20% of his rights.
