In the last game before the international break, Bayern Munich bowled over Union Berlin with a 7-0 victory. Michael Olise scored his first hat trick for Bayern and Harry Kane added a brace. While Olise was clearly the Man of the Match, Kane received his flowers, too.
Kane’s first-half penalty kick was his 100th Bundesliga goal. In just 98 appearances, he officially became the fastest player to reach the century mark, obliterating Dieter Müller’s previous record of 129 matches.
In the postgame interview
(via @iMiaSanMia), Kane gave a brief update on his contract extension talks.
“I’m extremely happy here,” said Kane. “The talks are ongoing. I really appreciate the support the fans are showing me here.”
Until the deal is signed, sealed, and delivered, Kane will continue to be peppered with questions. Like always, Kane will smile and give a classy response while praising others. The selfless leader knows what he has accomplished and who helped him get there.
