Chris Eubank Jr. and Conor Benn are about to run it back.
Seven months after their action-packed clash in London, Eubank Jr. (35-3) and Benn (23-1) return to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for their rematch
and both successfully weighed in for the rematch Friday morning, with Eubank Jr. registering at 159.1 pounds and Benn at 159.3 pounds.
The weigh-ins were considerably less dramatic than those from their April clash, which saw Eubank Jr. miss weight by .05 pounds and have to pay a $500,000 fine per a contracted weight clause. Eubank Jr. had the last laugh though, winning a unanimous decision to hand Benn his first loss after 12 incredible rounds of boxing.
Adding to the weight of this rivalry is the history shared by their fathers, Chris Eubank Sr. and Nigel Benn, who met in a pair of classic contests in the early 1990s.
Following their ceremonial weigh-ins, Eubank Jr. and Benn engaged in an intense, but respectful faceoff, with neither fighter saying a word before separating.
Afterwards, Eubank Jr. spoke confidently about the second fight matching the action of the first, saying, “The first fight was a Fight of the Year contender. This fight is going to be a Fight of the Decade contender.”
All 12 boxers competing Saturday successfully made weight at the official weigh-ins.
Eubank Jr. vs. Benn 2 takes place at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London and airs live on DAZN PPV.
