Ronda Rousey was back in prime form last night (Sat., May 16, 2026) LIVE on Netflix from inside the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, Calif., slicing through Gina Carano with a 17-second armbar submission to cap off an incredible debut on Netflix.
Despite not fighting in almost a decade, Rousey was still a sizeable betting favorite to not only win Saturday’s main event but also to get a submission. That’s probably because Carano hasn’t fought in 17 years and had to drop 100 pounds just to get in fight shape.
It was up to Rousey to channel her past excellence and turn in one more memorable moment inside of the cage.
Luckily for all the Rousey lovers out there, “Rowdy” wasted absolutely no time changing levels and scoring a takedown in the middle of the cage. Rousey quickly moved into full mount to land some short ground-and-pound, but that only lasted a few seconds. The former UFC women’s bantamweight champion transitioned like it was nothing, locked up Carano’s arm, and leaned back to secure yet another armbar finish.
Rousey, who snapped a two-fight losing streak with Saturday’s submission win, confirmed in her post-fight interview that she is not interested in another fight at this time. It was still a tremendous comeback for “Rowdy” and great a way to stick it to the man.
