For the second time in three years, the All-Star Game is coming to the Chase Center, one of the best and most modern arenas in basketball. In 2025 it was the Golden State Warriors who hosted the NBA All-Star Game. This time? It’s the Golden State Valkyries, who will play host to the 2027 WNBA All-Star Game and all the festivities it entails.
The news was announced on Tuesday that the Chase Center will host the midseason showdown, which will take place on July 30 and 31. It’s hardly surprising news,
as the Valkyries, the Bay Area, and the Chase Center are all deserving of the honor.
Golden State has had, far and away, the most successful start of any expansion team in WNBA history. In their inaugural year last season, the Valks posted a winning record and made the postseason, things previously unheard of for expansion teams. In their follow-up campaign this year, Golden State has emerged as one of the best teams in the league, and currently sits second in the 15-team league with a 25-9 record.
In addition to that, the Valkyries have already became known for filling the arena with diehard fans, and having the loudest and best fanbase in the league. Ballhalla, as Chase Center is known on Valkyries game days, rocks like no other arena.
While the goal remains to host a WNBA Finals game — which may come later this year — it’s an exciting honor to be awarded the All-Star Game, and its no less than everyone involved with the team deserves. You can be sure that the organization and the city will go all out come July. Start the countdown!
