Big Blue Madness is traditionally one of the biggest recruiting weekends of the year for Kentucky Basketball.
The unofficial kickoff to the basketball season typically draws some of Kentucky’s top targets,
and this year seems to continue that trend as one of the top prospects in the 2026 recruiting class will be in Lexington for Big Blue Madness.
2026 shooting guard Caleb Holt is expected to be in attendance for Big Blue Madness. Holt is viewed as one of the top 5 prospects in the class, and has been a Kentucky target for quite a while. The 6’5 guard from Prolific Prep took an official visit to Lexington in September, but is taking an unofficial visit this coming weekend.
That’s big for Kentucky in a hotly-contested recruitment. Alabama is also viewed as one of the top contenders for Holt. He’s also taken visits to Arkansas, Ole Miss, Arizona, and Providence. He’s also expected to visit Auburn.
247 Sports Director of Scouting Adam Finkelstein had this to say about Holt over the summer.
“The bottom line is that Holt is one of the most consistently impactful players in high school basketball and has the mentality and physical tools to have a high long-term floor. His ceiling will be dictated by the continued progression of his guard skills, along with his ability to maintain his efficiency while stretching his game.”
Big Blue Madness weekend is setting up to be a big recruiting weekend for Mark Pope and staff.
