“Talk is cheap; my footballing quality isn’t” – Michael Olise, probably.
Everybody and their houseplant knows that Bayern Munich’s Michael Olise isn’t one for flamboyant interviews. A man of few words, he lets his footballing do all the talking. Tonight, his football was an eloquent soliloquy. He capped the game with a stat sheet beyond comprehension against a very strong and able opponent in Bodø/Glimt on European football’s biggest stage. Two goals, an assist, and a plethora of other things on and off
the ball.
Take a bow, Man of the Match.
In the post-match interview, Olise was asked by the Champions League crew (DAZN) (as captured by @iMiaSanMia) on how it feels to score such great goals, to which he responded in typical fashion: “I don’t know.”
Fair enough.
The interviewer then decided that they had not had enough and pushed ahead with another question: “How do you do it?”
Olise, unfazed and nonchalant, responded, “I shoot and it goes in.”
Touché. An even shorter version of his famous interview at Crystal Palace.
It was also at this point that the interviewer learnt a very important lesson. Olise’s talking happens during the game. After it, the man just wants to go rest. This is the nonchalant final boss we’re talking about.
