The Baltimore Ravens are trailing the Cleveland Browns, 16-10 at halftime. Here are the instant reactions from Baltimore Beatdown’s staff:
The Ravens are down six points at half due to three familiar foes: sacks, penalties, and turnovers. Offense and special teams have been miserable in this one. If those units clean up their act in the second half, they should be able to win this game. But that’s no guarantee against Myles Garrett, who has been nearly unblockable to start this game. The defense has stood
tall on third down and in the red zone, but Baltimore can’t continue to place the entire burden on one side of the ball. – Nikhil Mehta
Everything that could go wrong went wrong for the Ravens in that half, but fortunately, it is just a six-point deficit to overcome. Todd Monken will have to find a way to stop Myles Garrett, who has terrorized the Ravens’ offensive line. Lamar Jackson also needs to come alive in this second half. While the interception and a few other incompletions have gone through some of his teammates’ hands, he still hasn’t looked sharp. Special teams errors have been costly, and hopefully, they will be resolved—huge 30 minutes to come. – Mark Myers
The first half went the way of a typical AFC North brawl. Special teams gaffes and an interception off of Keaton Mitchell’s hands gave the Browns more life than they deserved, leading to points in each instance. It should be no surprise that Myles Garrett is wrecking the game against this Baltimore offensive line either, but the Ravens will have to find a way to limit his impact in the second half. I expect Todd Monken to stick the ground game with a mix of Derrick Henry and Keaton Mitchell as it has been largely successful so far. – Dustin Cox
