Over the years, Daniele Rugani has been a loyal servant to Juventus. No matter what role he has played, he has done the job even if he never lived up to the big amount of hype he received when he first
broke into the first team a decade ago.
We now have another chapter to add to the interesting journey of Rugani’s Juventus career.
Juventus announced on Monday aka Deadline Day that they have loaned Rugani to relegation-threatened Fiorentina for the remainder of the 2025-26 season. La Viola, who are currently in 18th place and one point away from being out of the relegation zone, will pay €500,000 for the six-month loan and will reportedly have an option to buy Rugani in the summer that will become an obligation if they are to stay up in Serie A and prevent themselves from spending their 100th anniversary in Italy’s second division.
Rugani renewed his contract with Juventus until 2028 back in late October.
Rugani returned to Juventus as an option off the bench this season following his 2024-25 season on loan in the Netherlands with Ajax. His loan spell at Fiorentina will mark the fourth time since 2020 that Rugani has gone out on loan, with him splitting his time during the 2020-21 season at Ligue 1 side Rennes and then back in Italy with Cagliari.
This season, Rugani appeared in eight games between Serie A and the Champions League. He has been out injured since Juventus’ win over Roma in December, having come on late for Gleison Bremer and playing through a muscle injury to help the Bianconeri secure the three points.
