UFC Vegas 113 went down last Saturday night (Feb. 7, 2026) inside Meta Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, leaving several fighters feeling the post-fight blues. Among them was Jailton Almeida, who suffered his second straight loss after coming up short against Rizvan Kuniev via unanimous decision.
And Amir Albazi, who was outclassed by Kyoji Horiguchi for 15 minutes, dropping a unanimous decision for the second straight time (see it here). But which fighter is suffering from the worst post-fight hangover,
now a few days removed from the show?
Vinicius Oliveira.
Coming into his first-ever UFC headlining gig, Oliveira was hoping to make a splash against Mario Bautista in order to raise his own stock in the rankings and with the powers that be that can give his career a boost. After all, Bautista currently sits at No. 9 and has big wins over Jose Aldo and Patchy Mix, so a victory over him looks good on any Bantamweight’s resume.
Unfortunately for the Brazilian standout, he was shutout and defeated before he could get anything going, as Bautista proved to be too good, too quick and too much for him, ultimately submitting him in the second round after a dominant opening frame (highlights). Afterward, Oliveira revealed all the struggles he went through in the weeks leading up to the all-important fight.
“So now I can tell everyone that on December 19th, I broke my arm,” Oliveira said. “I had the option not to fight. Starting the fight tonight, I felt fine, but then it started to hurt. I got tired too. In the second round, they asked for jabs and my arm wouldn’t answer. No sad stories though — let’s move on.”
“I had a rough weight cut — the worst one I’ve ever had — because I couldn’t train properly,” Oliveira added. “I couldn’t spar or hit bags with high intensity. Thanks for the support. I got beat up and finished, and I’m ready for the next one. They told me to take care of my arm for the next 180 days.”
While his struggles leading up to the fight may be legit, it’s never a good look when a fighter starts revealing injuries and weight troubles, which are often interpreted as excuses for a poor performance by fans, media and fellow fighters alike.
As for the loss itself, it’s “Lok Dog’s” first-ever defeat inside the Octagon after starting off his UFC run with four straight wins, putting a big damper on the momentum he had built for himself in such a short amount of time. On the bright side, he is just 30 years of age so he will still have plenty of chances to get back on track and eventually navigate himself to a Top 10 spot.
As far as what could be next for him, perhaps a showdown against Montel Jackson is in order. Like Oliveira, Jackson is coming off a tough loss after coming up short against Deiveson Figueiredo via split-decision in Oct. 2025. The challenge would be good for both men and allow one of them to get back into the winner’s circle, while the loser goes home with two straight defeats.
Unless, of course, you have a better idea?
