Barcelona legend and former coach Xavi Hernández is among the top candidates to become the new manager of the Netherlands national team and has already beein in talks with the Dutch Federation (KNVB).
According to a report from Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, Xavi met with KNVB representatives recently and is at the top of the list of contenders along with former Belgium and Portugal coach Roberto Martínez.
Xavi has been out of management since leaving Barça two years ago and has chosen to wait for a big
opportunity, and having been linked with Manchester United and other top jobs in the past, it looks as though Xavi has a real shot at one of the most prestigious international jobs available.
The former midfielder could replace another Barça legend and former coach in Ronald Koeman, who left the national team after the World Cup. Xavi took over for Koeman at Barça in 2021, and the same movie could play out again for the Oranje five years laer.
