Good afternoon. Earlier today, we shared what the TOC staff is predicting for MSU’s 2025 football season, as well as the national picture. Now we turn our attention to what the oddsmakers at FanDuel have to say about things.
Starting off with some good news for the opener on Friday night, the Spartans are heavy favorites to beat Western Michigan with the line currently set at 20.5 points. The over/under is 49.5.
Never before has Michigan
State had a Heisman Trophy winner. And the folks at FanDuel don’t think that will change this year. Two Spartans have listed odds for this year’s top individual trophy. QB Aidan Chiles is +15,000 and WR Nick Marsh is +50,000. In case you are curious, the national favorites are
- +700: Arch Manning (Texas)
- +900: Cade Klubnik (Clemson), Garrett Nussmeier (LSU)
- +1200: Jeremiah Smith (Ohio State)
- +1800: Carson Beck (Miami), LaNorris Sellers (South Carolina), Drew Allar (Penn State), Ty Simpson (Alabama)
Interestingly, former MSU QB and current Arizona State Sun Devil Sam Leavitt is next at +2000.
For the season as a whole, FanDuel does not have a positive outlook for MSU. The win total is set at 5.5, with the over being a slight favorite (-122). They have MSU with the 11th best odds for becoming Big Ten champions at +10,000. The top three teams are Ohio State (+185), Penn State (+230), and Oregon (+470).
Wondering what kind of pay day you could get if MSU wins it all? To win the national championship, the Spartans are +50,000, good for 40th in the country along with Florida State and one spot behind Duke. The top five teams are Texas (+550), Georgia (+650), Ohio State (+650), Penn State (+700), and Alabama (+900).
