The Young Bucks are superkick specialists, especially when they hit the double superkick together. There is a specific reason why Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson always hit the double superkick on time. The Bucks shared that reason on the latest episode of BTE.
The Bucks answered mailbag questions on BTE, and it was asked why Matt superkicks with his left leg. That’s a good question considering that Matt is right-handed. Matthew Ronjon explained (quote slightly edited for clarity):
I have no idea, because
I’m right-handed. But for whatever reason, I feel like I have to kick with my left. I couldn’t even kick with my right. It wouldn’t work. But, you know what, I think it gives us a competitive edge over the move. Because like you compare our double superkicks to other teams, ours are always on time. And I think specifically the reason is because we get to look at each other, and I get to do the left. But if I was right, my back would be to Nick, and it wouldn’t turn out as well. So, the left and the right, it just works. I have no idea why it’s that way. It’s the only thing really I do left-sided because I’m right-handed.
That’s a neat peak behind the curtain of professional wrestling. It’s funny that Matt can’t kick with his right, and that worked to the Bucks’ benefit for the double superkick. The way Matt delivers his answer seems like this was the first time he actually thought it through. In the words of Bob Ross, consider that a happy accident.
