Paul Kuharsky is reporting that John “Bones” Fassel will remain with the Tennessee Titans as the special teams coordinator under Robert Saleh. This really comes as no surprise. Fassel is widely regarded as one of the best special teams coordinators in the NFL. He also apparently did Friday film meetings this season while Brian Callahan was the head coach, according to Jeffery Simmons on the Bussin with the Boys podcast. Kuharsky says that Fassel’s contract runs through the 2027 season.
PK also said
that Dennard Wilson will not be back as the defensive coordinator. Wilson really did an excellent job this season, considering all of the injuries and players that were traded during the season. Don’t be surprised to see Wilson join John Harbaugh with the New York Giants. Wilson was the defensive backs coach for Harbaugh with the Baltimore Ravens in 2023.
The Titans have yet to confirm Saleh as the new coach, but Kuharsky says that could come at some point today.
