It’s time to start preparing for the 2025 Syracuse Orange football season. We’re going through the roster to take a look at each Syracuse player as we get to know a lot of new faces for Year 2 of the Fran Brown Era.
Up next is…
Name: Daunte Bacheyie
Position: Tight end
Year: Freshman
Height: 6’5”
Weight: 210 lbs.
Hometown: Sylvan Beach, NY
High School/Previous College: Christian Brothers Academy
2024 stats: According to Syracuse.com, he had 22 receptions for 355 yards and 9 touchdowns for undefeated NY State
Champion CBA. Also played basketball and ran track for the Brothers.
2025 projections: At six-five (same size as Oronde Gadsden II, for context) and flashing potential to catch the 50 balls in high school, Bacheyie certainly projects right now as more of a receiver/playmaker archetype at tight end. He’ll definitely need to bulk up (also for context, Gadsden is around 30 pounds heavier compared to Bacheyie), which is why it’s likely despite the possible upside, he’ll redshirt the year considering Syracuse already has guys like Dan Villari, Jamie Tremble and Elijah Washington-Baker all on the depth chart.
How’d he get here?: Committed to the Orange in April 2024 over offers from Pittsburgh, Boston College, Buffalo and Fordham.
What’d recruiting sites say?: Consensus three-star
Winners Get Washed: Axe — a well-deserved Cool Ocean body spray needed after making a lot of plays downfield.

Interesting nugget o’interest: His 10.98 in the 100m is 2nd all-time in CBA history behind his current Orange teammate Darien Williams,
