The Utah Jazz have had a surprising season compared to expectations. The team was slated to be at the bottom of the league, but has looked much better with some amazing seasons from Lauri Markkanen and
Walker Kessler. The Jazz’s surprising season has come despite Walker Kessler having shoulder surgery after game 5, which will keep him out for the season.
It comes at the worst time for Kessler, who had unsuccessful extension talks with the Jazz that left him frustrated when the season started.
It appears things haven’t improved and could be considered a “murky situation” according to Tim MacMahon. MacMahon was recently on with Spence Checketts and talked about the situation with Kessler.
MacMahon says that he doesn’t sense there’s a lot of alignment between Walker Kessler’s camp and the Utah Jazz at this point. He says that other GMs are going to watch this situation very closely and that this is a potential restricted free agent that other teams could possibly get. He goes on to say that if the Jazz are looking at that situation, then they may look at a potential sign-and-trade situation.
What type of deal would you look for in a sign-and-trade situation for Walker Kessler?
