No. 1-ranked Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Strawweight Virna Jandiroba will fight for 115-pound gold against fan favorite Mackenzie Dern in the co-main event of UFC 321 next weekend (Sat., Oct.
25, 2025) inside Etihad Arena on “Fight Island” in Abu Dhabi.
The two strawweights are running it back for the title, and if you remember their first meeting, it was a low-key banger. Despite both being elite grapplers, Jandiroba and Dern kept it standing for most of the fight, trading heavy shots instead of takedowns.
Rewatch the fight below:
Dern won that bout via unanimous decision as a -155 betting favorite. This time around, however, she enters as the underdog, as the newly released odds tell a different story.
Jandiroba opened as a -215 favorite, with the comeback on Dern at +164. But early money has come in on the American, tightening the line to Jandiroba -130 and Dern +102, according to FanDuel.
Some Mixed martial arts (MMA) fans believe Dern is being undervalued — and they’re not shy about it:
“Dern is a live dog.”
“The odds make no sense.”
“I’m slamming money on Dern, c’mon now.”
Still, given the momentum, Jandiroba arguably deserves to be the favorite. She’s riding a five-fight win streak and has beaten two former title challengers (watch highlights). Dern, meanwhile, is on a modest two-fight streak after defeating Amanda Ribas in her last outing (watch highlights).
With how their first fight went, this rematch feels like a coin flip; however, if the fight takes place on the ground, things will get very interesting
