Two matches that were advertised for last week’s Main Event but cut from the broadcast may see the light of day.
The listing for this week’s episode on YouTube reveals Akira Tozawa vs. Jasper Troy and Wendy Choo vs. The Vision’s Maxxine Dupri.
WWE advertised a three-match show last week, with those bouts joining Michin vs. Giulia, which kicked off the episode. But once Michin and Giulia’s match ended, so did Main Event.
The total runtime was 12:16.
Fans voiced their displeasure in the live chat, comments,
and on social media. Ahead of Thursday’s broadcast, some returned to this week’s chat hoping Main Event offers more than they got last week.
“I hope this week it’s not a 12 minute one match [episode],” one fan wrote.
After her match was cut, Wendy Choo played it off on X, writing, “SIKE see you next week yall.”
Choo vs. Dupri is one to watch. It marks Dupri’s first match since turning heel and joining The Vision, with her on-screen beau, Austin Theory, joining her ringside.
Last year, WWE tried to present Dupri as a shooter after airing a series of vignettes of her training with Nattie. Dupri eventually won the Women’s Intercontinental Championship, but the badass presentation never quite caught on. Her reign lasted just 48 days.
If Dupri proves effective as a heel, The Vision could extend its dominance from Raw’s tag team division into the women’s division.
Hopefully WWE delivers as advertised, and fans will find out soon enough as Main Event streams Thursday on YouTube at 8 p.m. ET.
